Dollhouse Lamb Roast by fairchildart Dollhouse Lamb Roast by fairchildart
Dollhouse Miniature in 1:12 Scale Handcrafted from Polymer Clay

I haven't sculpted meat in quite a while - it's always a treat to try to capture all the shades and textures. The herbs scattered on top are crushed basil leaves ;)

There is actually a hole cut out in the slice - from this angle you can see it: [link]

Daily Deviation: Oh my gosh....THANK YOU!! The DD description especially made me tear up a bit. I am incredibly thankful to dA for giving me such amazing exposure and the chance to have my miniatures seen by such a huge group of supportive people.

I'm still in the mindset I was way back when I joined, just hoping for a few views and comments here and there when I posted a new piece...so this kind of recognition I have a hard time wrapping my head around. But I'm thankful to all of you who have left me comments and favorited my work...I apologize if I don't get a chance to reply to you all but I read every comment and greatly appreciate you :)

I really want to eat this...it looks delicious. The detail is stunning; if you told me this was real I would believe you without questioning.
So why do you make these? For fun? And what do you draw inspiration from? Do you see an interesting looking food and think, "I want to make this!" or do you just think of different foods and choose from them?

I make miniatures to unwind and escape from the real world for a while ^_^ As a bonus I have a cute sculpture at the end and make a little money on the side too...for inspiration I look at Flickr and Foodgawker a lot :)
