After seeing Toni Ellison's tutorial ([link]) I just had to try her cupcake base mold out (the results are incredible!). She is one phenomenally talented artist with a lot of useful techniques up her sleeve:

-FIMO and Sculpey brands of polymer clay
-Translucent liquid sculpey (for the frosting)
-Colored chalk pastels
